Hi Everyone,
I hope you had a good weekend!
Today I have some fun ideas for your coming weekend.
We had my dear friend in town last week, so here's a kid-friendly weekend itinerary based on what we did (all places are the ones we liked, no advertisement here)!
Location: SF North Beach.
1. Club Fugazi and show 'Dear San Francisco'. This was my second time watching, and I love it. Kids loved it too! The only thing I'd advise is to be sure your kids can sit through a 90-minute show. They do sell snacks, which sometimes helps. I think it's a great experience to show your family or visitors! https://www.instagram.com/p/DXmjxyxBE6f/
2. If you ended up in North Beach on Saturday between 3 and 6 pm, do visit Circus Saturdays in Washington Square. My kids love it, and they have learned fun tricks too! https://www.instagram.com/circusartsflow/
3. Food-wise, we liked Flour & Water Pizzeria. Yummy pizza, not too long a wait between ordering and the food itself, patient with families with kids. My crew loved watching how pizza is made from scratch. If you have your favorite spots in that area, drop me a line! https://maps.app.goo.gl/E9jdhDmXbzqZM4Y47
4. Ice cream. Omg, there are so many small shops! Our favorites are these: Lush Gelato (https://maps.app.goo.gl/gLZnRRkJ2uke334N7) and Alimento (https://maps.app.goo.gl/P8fEKmLS1ZsZx91d6). My favorite flavors are Dulce de Leche and Banana Walnut accordingly.
5. Playgrounds: Washington Square has one playground itself. And if you walk two blocks down, there is Joe Di Maggio https://maps.app.goo.gl/mJfz6FDh6a348J649
6. Have more time and are ok with driving for a couple of minutes: Coit Tower (https://maps.app.goo.gl/zagJKkeunFJkd7LY7) and Cable Car Museum (https://maps.app.goo.gl/MRPCav18o1oQXVeHA) were a hit with our crew!
7. Parking. That's hard! If we come just for the circus on Saturday, I'll try to park on the street, 2h are generally enough. If we come for the show, food, and exploring, there are plenty of paid garages (i.e. https://maps.app.goo.gl/rYLUX9ha2vnMkJH3A). Beware that the parking price might be different at 1 pm vs 6 pm. (When we went on Saturday, it was $25 vs $50 at the same spot, but I think there was a Giants game that day too:)
Events I'm considering going to this weekend:
1. Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month at China Camp
2. Overture and Crescendo Youth Ensemble concert.
We went on Sunday as a field trip from the girls' music school, and it was so great. I'm seriously considering going again this Sunday to listen to their younger performers. p.s. Lots of respect to all the parents who help their kids practice and perform. I've been in this game for less than a year, and it's quite an involvement required.
3. Family Day at Gravity Vault Marin.
Kabir has been climbing on a team for the past two years, and he loves the gym!
I hope to see some of you over the weekend!
